Early Access is Open: What to Expect and How Invites Work

Today, we are thrilled to announce that Early Access for Qlip is officially open.

Over the past several months, we have been testing Qlip internally and with a closed group of alpha testers. We are now expanding access to developers, writers, designers, and power users across macOS, Windows, iOS, and Android.

Here is everything you need to know about what early access entails, how invitations are distributed, and how you can participate.

Why a Gated Batch Model?

We are deliberate about our infrastructure rollouts. Qlip relies on real-time P2P LAN discovery backed by global low-latency E2EE relay infrastructure.

Rather than opening the floodgates all at once, we are inviting users in weekly rolling batches. This allows us to:

  1. Monitor Relay Node Load: Verify server region routing, latency metrics, and connection persistence under real-world multi-device traffic.
  2. Refine OS Edge Cases: Catch unique system clipboard quirks (such as macOS Sequoia permission prompts, Windows 11 notification behavior, and Android 14 background clip limits).
  3. Incorporate Direct Feedback: Rapidly iterate on features with active community input.

What Works in Early Access Today

When you receive your early access code, you will get access to:

  • Native Desktop Apps: Lightweight, high-performance builds for macOS (Apple Silicon & Intel) and Windows 10/11.
  • Mobile Companion Apps: iOS (TestFlight) and Android (APK / Google Play Beta).
  • Sub-100ms Clipboard Sync: Real-time cross-device sync for text, formatted code snippets, links, and screenshots.
  • End-to-End Encryption: 1-click device pairing with Curve25519 cryptographic key derivation.
  • Local History Search: Instant fuzzy search over your local SQLite clipboard store.

What We’re Working On Next (Roadmap)

During Early Access, our engineering team is actively working on the following upcoming features:

  • Large File Drop Sync: Streaming temporary file transfers (PDFs, archives, raw images) between paired devices.
  • SAML / Enterprise Single Sign-On: Identity provider integration for corporate security policies.
  • Granular Expiration Rules: Custom auto-purge timers for sensitive regex patterns (API keys, JWT tokens, connection strings).
  • Custom Hotkeys & Tray Menus: Custom keyboard shortcuts for launching history popups on macOS and Windows.

How to Get Invited

  1. Submit Your Email: Head to qlip.sh and enter your email address.
  2. Check Your Inbox: Batches are released every Monday morning. You will receive an invitation email containing download links and your unique activation token.
  3. Join Our Discord: Early access users get direct access to our engineering team in the official Qlip Discord community to report bugs and suggest features.

Thank you for helping us shape the future of cross-device productivity!
